| --- Tutorial --- Using my images for digital scrapbooking, photographic manipulations and other projects using programs like Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Learn how to use layers, create shadows, alter brightness, contrast and color. -- New to digital art and scrapbooking? To start you will need an image editing software such as Photoshop Elements (recommended), Paint Shop Pro, Adobe PhotoShop 6.0 or above (recommended for people with a large budget) or other software capable of opening transparent .PNG files. There are also free image editing art programs like Google's Picasa (limited features), GIMP (similar to Adobe PhotoShop) or online sites like Paint.net. This initial investment will allow you to create unlimited creative layouts, edit and add special effects to your photos. In the long run it's much less expensive than traditional scrapbooking (especially if you're using free software.) It replaces the need for materials such as albums, decorative papers, stickers, adhesives, photo prints, paper punches, etc. It's also a lot easier to create a beautiful layout digitally, no matter what your art skill level is. Since there is no glue, you can reposition or recolor your elements as much as you want! You can choose to view your images with family and friends from your computer, create dvd slide shows for your tv, or keep a real album by printing at home or taking the files to a store for photo printing.
